Isabelle discovers briskets!

Let me start by apologizing for being MIA for the past couple of days. I had some issues with my internet connection while I was in LA.

So my arrival in San Antonio was perfect, Stephanie picked me up in her beautiful and freshly cleaned Jeep and the first thing I thought was wow, she’s even prettier in person!

So now that you all know how great the entire family was let me tell you about another one of San Antonio’s treasures…. Brisket!!!! For those of you who don’t know brisket is some slow roasted beef… It was amazing

We got to Dickey’s and there a big poster with pictures of stuff you can order. I’m super excited for my first SA meal so I’m jumping up and down and looking at the pictures. Now this is how the conversation went.

Stephanie: Joey what do you want with your brisket?
Joey: The mashed potato casserole
Joey (explaining the menu to me): So you can have your brisket as is or in a sandwich…..
Me: What’s a brisket?
Joey: Steph, she doesn’t know what brisket is!!! ( insert shock)
Steph: WHAT?????

People we don’t have brisket in Montreal and you know what, it’s a shame! It’s probably best that we don’t cause I would have it for dinner all the time. That sandwich was so dang good! I don’t think I said a word the entire time, between the potatoes that I saved for last, the sandwich and the soda it was like a party in my mouth! A brisket is a whole lot of fatty deliciousness… It was the most perfect welcome to San Antonio meal!!!

If you want to see pictures I suggest you go and visit Stephanie’s blog. Another interesting info about the Gorena’s Stephanie always has her camera with her and whenever they are doing something she just snaps away and if she’s not snapping, Joey or the kids will say “ You should take a picture for your blog” So all that to say I think I took two pics the entire tme I was there!

The food in SA is amazing people! It’s only one of the reason I want to move there!!!!

Have a great day people!
